"..from the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring..." - japanese plum blossoms
this is just the beginning of the blossoming season in japan. click on these pictures to see enlarged version. i can't believe these are merely a small taste of what the blossoms will look like in a couple weeks. i have heard that the trees are literally drooping with blossoms come late March. the cherry blossom season is so big here that the news actually has a "cherry blossom forecast" - for optimal viewing times! a student was telling me, one day, about these blossoms and how beautiful they are, and he actually started to weep a little. i love the japanese. and i love japan for this reason. although these are plum blossoms, "ume" as my students are telling me, i hope it gives you an idea of just the sheer beauty of this lovely flower.

Jane....this has nothing to do with your pretty blossom pictures...I know, I know...comments should be relevent...lol...but...I get to go see Feist at the Winspear in May!!!!!!!! It will be my first time at the Winspear, and my first time seeing Feist perform...I had to share my excitement with you!!! xoxo Jules
these are gorgeous! my boss just bought a fake big cherry blossom tree and spent about 20 hours deciding where in the tiny little restaurant it would fit best...and seeing these photos, i see her love for that crazy plastic plant in a whole new light. What memories she must have while she rearranges plastic blossoms. I'm glad I get to see things like this through you!
hey, I understand Bri about the plastic-ness. The Japanese love their plastic food as well. They have it on display everywhere here outside restraunts. You name it - its in plastic form! They will spend hours meticulously arranging them. i heart plastic. ha.ha.
