japan at heritage festival edmonton

A lady at the Japan exhibit wrote my name on a bookmark in Japanese characters. I love it.

The heritage fest today really inspired me. We stopped to watch these incredible Japanese drummers. If anyone has seen these before, you know that it gives you extreeme goosbumps. You can feel the power and the passion behind the people. Perhaps, when I finally get to Japan at the end of August, I may want to take up drumming.

Sarah,

Absolutely! That would be great Sarah! Thanks.
So far, the Nymans and Haverkamps have managed to comment on my blog and I don't think they have an actually blog site. I will check again though to make sure that anyone can comment. Thats good to know!
I hope your having a great summer.
I will be coming to Ontario on the 25th. Are you in B.C right up until school? I miss you and can't wait for you and to hear about your internship experience in the next few months!

Hi Jane,

It looks like you are getting really excited to move to Japan. If you think Taiko drumming was amazing here, then it will blow you away in Japan. In the summer months they will often have fire festivals involving fire, of course, and taiko - in this setting it is so primal and the drumming really does become your heart beat - so definately try to go to a fire festival!

Take care, Jill
